In 1958, the membership of the Club established a new home in the lush farmland surroundings of southwest Richmond skirting the Fraser River. Arthur Vernon Macan, who, in his lifetime, carved out more than 40 highly regarded golf courses in the Pacific Northwest, designed the challenging layout, accomplishing a high standard of excellence, even for him.  

Massive, sweeping willow trees are a magnificent feature of the golf course, framing many of its narrow fairways and providing a stunning backdrop for several of the greens. The beauty of this weeping drapery throughout the golf course is a tacit showcase of Richmond Country Club’s success in striking out on a new direction 50 years ago. For when a branch from a willow tree breaks off, it can grow into a mighty willow wherever it finds the right fertile conditions.

While we do treasure our Jewish heritage and will always continue to honor it, we also embrace those who share our values.  Our goal is to attract a diverse group of members, who want to be part of our social community; who are looking for family activity or an athletic outlet, and who want to get involved.

Over the past 50 years Richmond Country Club has seen many changes and our membership has evolved. What hasn’t changed is our friendly, family orientated atmosphere, outstanding golf course, tennis and athletic facilities, comprehensive children and youth programs, fine menu and wine list and our commitment to providing you with excellent service.
