Golf at RCC

The Golf Centre is led by Canadian PGA Head Professional Derek Thornley and a team comprising three Assistant Professionals, a Shop Merchandiser and Service personnel. The Golf Centre strives to raise the level of participation, appreciation and enjoyment of the game of golf at RCC among people of all ages and abilities.

				Derek Thornley, Canadian PGA Head Professional Derek grew up learning and playing the game of golf as a junior at Marine Drive Golf Club in Vancouver. His playing career includes provincial, national and international competitions at the amateur level and four years of professional tour experience on the Canadian Tour and Australia / New Zealand Tour. Derek trained under head professionals at McCleery, Fraserview, Point Grey and Shaughnessy golf facilities in Vancouver before accepting his first head pro position in 1997 at the Sunshine Coast G & CC. Since coming to RCC in 2002, Derek enjoys the many challenges and successes within the Golf Centre operation and considers providing exceptional member experiences and the development of junior golf among his highest priorities. He is a Level 4 CPGA Certified Instructor, as well as being certified by the RCGA on the Rules of Golf and has contributed his teaching expertise at two RCGA Western Canadian Player Development Camps. Derek currently sits on the PGA of BC's Board of Directors where he is serving his third term as Director of Strategic Planning.

				Mike Cyndroski, Canadian PGA Assistant Professional Mike hails from Winnipeg, Manitoba, and has been with RCC since 2006. The long-hitting left hander enjoys helping others improve their love of the game through teaching lessons and by developing junior golfers. He has spent countless hours infusing his skills and passion to others in this pursuit of giving back to the game. Mike is currently completing his final year of the Professional Golf Management Program and is a Level 4 CPGA Certified Instructor, as well as being certified by the RCGA on the Rules of Golf.



	For the golfer, our 18-hole championship course entices both the avid and recreational golfer, providing a demanding yet memorable, test for players of all abilities.

	For the tennis enthusiast, Richmond Country Club offers four outdoor hard courts in a beautiful park-like setting, which are also lit for evening play, and four indoor courts which are available all year round.

	Our location is also ideal for hosting a variety of special functions. Whether it is a meeting, private party, wedding or tournament, our staff will help you celebrate the event with sophistication and style.
